Can a table design be modified?

Hi,
I have a database in which one of the fields is defined as "text" with 11 characters. Due to organizational policy changes the field now must be 20 characters.
My questions is: Can my existing database table be changed to allow the form to accept 20 characters? Is this change possible since data is already loaded?
If this change is possible, I would appreciate any help on how to make this change.

Open the table in design view. Select the field you want to change. Adjust the Field Size property on the General tab in the lower half of your screen.

You can change number of text characters
Personally before I alter/amend a db I take a back up work on the back up leaving the original just in case

Go into tsble design and alter the number of characters to the required amount save then exit design mode go into datasheet view and test to make sure it worked
