Is it possible to create a Report to be used as a Sub-Report in a number of other reports, and at the same time be dynamic i.e. if I change anything in this Sub-Report it will be changed in all reports that it is used in?

I have found that my Sub-Reports are static, necessitating changes to be made in all Main Reports if the Sub-Report changes. I would love to hear if anyone knows of a way to overcome this.

I'm using CR 7, but I thought I saw something in the version 8 release notes about this. Has anyone used this in CR 8?

Mary

You can by re-importing the sub report in each report in design mode.

I am not up to speed on CR language and object model but it may be capable prgramatically too.

No, but you can change a formula's logic which controls the subreports data criteria, provided you host the report on an ASP server running Crystal Reports Web Server or use the programming interface for VC++, VB, Delphi, BCB, etc.
