If a VB6 program passes a parameter into a crystal report is there any way I can tell the report to look for the parameter and populate the report based on the parameter?

sure...done all the time....that is the purpose of the parameter.

In the record selection formula you would use this parameter

{table.field} = {?Parameter}

for example: You might create a parameter called "CompanyID" and refer in the record selection formula to a {table.CompanyID}

the above formula would only select companyID's from the database that matched the user (or VB) inputed parameter. Jim Broadbent
