It shouldn't without any problem, the media gateway doesn't care where it is as long as it can communicate with CM effectively.
I am assuming that you are running this VPN over the internet (rather than an MPLS or private link of some sort). Since you are running the media gateway over the internet you will not have QoS. This may cause service issues with that media gateways registration and with calls to and from that location that traverse the link. Be sure to build an LSP into the gateway.
