Can a complex Publisher file be converted to Word?

I have designed a new set of stationery for the museum where I am a volunteer (a fort in southern England) using Publisher 2000 but the curator now wants all the items converted into Word because, as he rightly says, that's the only program most of those people likely to use it, understand.

I have tried hard to carry out this request but have been unable to do so. The design includes a gif logo, but it is the sublety of the placing and spacing of the text matter that defeats me.

I imagine this must be a fairly common problem and perhaps there is another way around it but I don't believe that Word is capable of working to the same fine limits as Publisher.

Can anyone please help.

Many thanks

Eric

I think you will struggle to get the exact same layout, but within publisher you can go to file, then save as, and then change the file format to word.

An alternative, depending on the complexity of the design would be to use publisher to create a background image that you can put into a word document (perhaps into the header of the word document)

You can then just add the text over the top.

You can even specify a different header/footer on the first page, so allowing you to create long documents with headed paper on the first page only.

Another trick you might need to empploy, if your design also has some elements on the edge of the page, is to add a text box to the header. By doing this , you can place the textbox, and its contents where ever you wish on the page.

As I say it depends on the design, but this might give you some options
