My supervisor asked an interesting question to me this afternoon. He would like to be notified when a user makes a call to 911 from any of our phone sets. I don't think there is a way for a network announcement or an email, but can the call be flagged on the terminal screen for our CS1000. I capture that data daily and would be able to trace back and give him the details.

Thanks!!
David

There is an ESA ntp that has all the info.

OSN
The ESA On-Site Notification (OSN) function notifies local security
personnel that an emergency call has occurred. This notification can be
provided by a maintenance device or a Meridian 1 proprietary phone with
display. The maintenance device and OSN phone are independent of one
another, and can be configured together, or one without the other (MTC is
entered in response to the USER prompt in LD 17).
When an emergency call is placed, the On-Site Notification function
automatically broadcasts an On-Site Notification call record to the output
devices. If the History File (ADAN = HST in LD 17) is configured as a
maintenance device, then the OSN call record will be saved in the History
File.

there is a bit more to explaining ESA but its all in the NTP if you can find it.

David,

What version of the CS 1000 are you using? I'd love a chance to talk to you, particularly if you're on an older version. I'm the product architect of the eTelemetry items at the YouTube link mentioned above. If you only want to notify one person, there is a trial version of our notification software you can download and use free of charge. I'm eager to get some professional feedback from anyone on a Meridian or CS 1000.

Thanks!
Mike

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

Thanks for the great information everyone. I will give the OSN a try.

David, what is the version of the CS 1000 you're using? Or are you using an older PBX? Thanks!

Mike
