This problem was reported in the past but after finally getting a chance to see it first hand here is the solution.

Problem is that there is a crash the same time every day.

After the crash no jobs will run and the activity log will not get updated. The crash will probably show up in the Windows Event Viewer Application log.
Application Error Error (100) 1000 N/A UI-MASTER Faulting application caloggerd.exe, version 11.5.4402. 14, faulting module ca70mt.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0000ade4.

Also look for an exception log logsvce.logxx.log.
BrightStor Backup Version 0,Exception Handler (Reordered Stack)

Exception Cause : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (attempting to read)

To verify this is the problem modify the DB Prune job to run in a couple of minutes. If it crashes then follow these steps.

Go into the ARCserve Server Admin, Configuration, Database, Configuration, and configure it to not run the DB Prune job.

Then deleted the DB Prune job from the queue.
Now go back to the ARCserve Server Admin and recreat the DB Prune job.
