CS1000M M/G on 5.0 The PBX operators are saying on an occassion that, when someone calls in, the line will ring 6 to 10 times before the call appears on the console. Any ideas of where to look?

Is it possible that you are using auto attendant for incoming calls and all lines to your voice mail are busy, so the calls are just being queued up until a line is available? You might want to ask the operators to collect some information on the calls and track them through the system, what number are they calling, what time its happening and how busy they are at the time etc.
...my 2cents worth .....

We do have auto attendant but it is happening both when auto attendant is active as well as when it isn't.

How does operator know it rings so many times before gets to console? from call complaints?

Have her keep a log with time and date and if she can get from caller number dialed.

Figure out call path and if you have CDR - try to find a pattern on incoming trunks.

Could be a bad copper trunk, could be problem with calls coming into one MGC and terminating on another.

Best is try to find pattern and then try to duplicate using same pattern
