Why would a station bounce a call back up to our operators attendant when there is no coverage path assigned to it?

I have several fax machines on my system, and for some reason when you dial a fax that's already in use and it rings for a number of times, it bounces the call up to the operator.

I just looked and there is no cov path set for it, so I would assume it would just continue to ring until the calling fax gave up.

Apparently I'm mistaken?

Can you do a lis trac on the station and paste?

can't on a station, I only get the options to list trace on

advocate, ewt, vdn, vector and previous.

If there is only one call appearance they should get a busy, not ringing. What type is the station configured as?

It's listed as a 2500

You can also try and do a lis usa ext XXXX and see what's all associated with that extension.

what type of trunk are the calls coming into? Is the call handling treatment sending it to the extension of one fax or a hunt group of fax's? The hunt group may have a cover path.

do a "ch sys fea" and look for Unanswered DID Call Timer (seconds) Probably on page 6 (CM4)

Change the setting hear to a blank and this will stop calls going to the operators.

Basically the call comes in on a DID (DDI) number and rings until this timer is reached and then automatically goes to the operators regardless of whether you have a coverage path or not.

No hunt group, just goes straight to the ext.

Just changed it, we'll see if that works out, thanks.
