Are callpilot crashed earlier this week and we got it back up and running. But now it looks like the tape drive is not working. It worked last night because I sat here while it backed up. Any Ideas? Thanks.

if it worked last night, what makes you think it's dead? i would do a backup to verify it's status. depending on the config you can also back up across the net to a remote hd. the tape should never be needed. power cycle restores from hd/.. also check the backup status, that is a more acurate test then visual.. a bad tape is more common then a bad drive. i have a tape for each day of the week, and back up to a server on the weekend...

I have tried a different tape and have even tried a cleaning tape and it still will not come up. It looks like in the error log that it is trying to work but is not starting the tape drive itself. I had to recreate about 250 mailboxes on Friday morning, If I reboot the server will I loose all of those mailboxes?

You shouldn't lose any data on a reboot.

Does the server see the tape drive? I would confirm that first.
There is a pep for tape drives scsi but seeing your drive was working with 2.02. that may not be the issue.

Nortel also came out with a new scsi cable for the earlier versions of CP that have been upgraded to a newer release.
61-81c systems.

The server does not see the tape drive anymore. The drives are still there but it is not working, Any suggestions?
