My office gal who resets everyones passwords for the voicemail, killed the callpilot box 000000 password, according to an internet search, I can reset it using support tools on the server. However it requires a distributor password to start the program. I have tried them for callpilot 3 and 4 but no joy.
It is callpilot 1.07 on a 201i server, anyone have this password.
and perhaps a proceedure to setup another mailbox she can use so I do not go thru this again? Thanx.

CP 1.07 had a stand-alone client and the login was not 000000

The mailbox 000000 was used to reset everyone elses password to their VMs, it got changed to something, if you know of another way to reset mail 000000 password to a known one, I would appreciate it. I think it can be done in the SUPPORT TOOLS with the distributor password, but I may be wrong.

To all: I shared a note or two with MACGVEYER. He has all the insider passwords known to exist on 1.07 - What I did not know what which one he should use and where.

you have a fat client for 1.07, you cannot use a web brower. the login name is sysadmin. off the top of my head I can't remember the password.

The login name for support is distributor. the correct password is the one that ends in nt. the path to enter support toots is Start menu, program, callpilot, system utilities, support tools.

the procedure according to my notes is as follows, the numbers that you select are a little differnt on each release through. I can't remember what release I made these notes on.

Do the following:
1. Log into Support Tools.
2. Select <10>Database Utilities.
3. Select <4> Database API Utility.
4. At CI> prompt, type resetadminpwd.
5. At CI>Type quit to exit.
6. Quit the Support Tools.
7. Log in to CallPilot Manager with the default password.

forgot to mention the distributor password is different on every release. the one i referenced is 1.07.

I tried to log into "distributor" with the password ending in "nt"
no joy....I believe I can use an idea presented earlier, with the Callpilot Administrator Client program. I have loaded it, and it finds the callpilot server aok. But when I try to activate the server with this program, it states "callpilot adminstrative client.....server connection could be established" I am confused, since it found it earlier, why can it not connect? Does anyone have an idea what I need to do to get this operational? (PS it use to work till I had to reload the callpilot program, since then I have not been able to get it to work) Thanx

did you install the latest peps. Does your client match the peps installed.

How does one check, and get the "lastest peps"?
I have a windows XP pro talking to the CallpilotNT server.

Not sure if CP 1.07 supports this, but next time give her "user with some administrative rights" persmissions to her own mailbox - only what she needs, nothing more. Keep the 000000 password under lock and key.

[former IT security manager rant]Otherwise, you may as well give her the domain\administrator password to your Windows servers as well, and while you're at it, the enable password to your Cisco routers and switches.[/former IT security manager rant]

But reading the thread above, you need to call your Nortel vendor and have them straighten the mess out for you. If you're not covered under PASS, the Avaya ESPL site will do you no good.

Thanx all for responding, thanx to your input I troubleshot the system more and discovered that I have callpilot ver 03.03.06
and that I need to use "call pilot manager" thru internet explorer. This is the 000000 password that is screwed up.The default of 124578 does not work, nor the password I set it to when I installed it. If anyone knows of a way to reset this 000000 password in the server, that would be a big help. (and yes, I have not shared any server passwords with anyone)Thanx

Did you run config wizard before you installed the peps. If you did, you probably corrupted your database and won't be able to login until you reimage it. I've seem it happen about 3 times. You have to install peps before you do anything else.

Thanks all for your inputs. Thanx to you guys....
I discovered I had callpilot v 3.0
I used the correct supplied password for the distributor in the support utilies, and reset the admin password.
I tested it, and all is aok, the 000000 reset to default, and I was able to get in and change the 000000 password to ours.
I how will attend to giving admin rights to another mailbox, so I do not go thru this again.
Thanx again to all.
