Hello-
Was wondering if it was possible to call a printer by IP instead of network name. I've been having trouble - since I have a report that I need to go to a laser printer and another report to a dot matrix tractor fed printer on LPT1. I know that I can get the printer to print to the dot matrix by set printer to LPT1, but not sure if I could call printer by IP.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Sorry, may be you need more information:
i don´t know if you can print to an IP but you can print to a network printer
SET PRINTER TO NAME <windows printer name>
and then run the report
REPO FORM <my report> TO PRINTER
and thats it
if your network is NT 4.0 or later
SET PRINTER TO NAME \\server\printer
and then run the report
with this you only need to add the printer in windows and remeber the name to use in vfp.
hope this help you.

Hi Bluepanic -
I guess I really want is to give an IP address which tells mewhat the Name of the Printer is, and then call the printer by name.
thanks for your thoughts
