We noticed it yesterday that when we make any outgoing calls on our local access PRI circuits, our billing telephone number is displayed on the called parties' caller ID, rather than the CLIDs on the phones. I monitored the D channels and on the outgoing messages (MSGO) the CLID numbers of the phone were showing and leaving my PBX correctly. So I opened a repair trouble ticket with our local access carrier on our PRI's and I was told by the tech that we do not have the Calling Party Number Screening (CPNS) feature on our b channels. I am not sure if this is the only issue here - so please advise if there are other issues that we need to address with our local carrier. Please note that the phone's CLID has been displaying correctly on a person's caller ID for many years.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

THE PRI VENDOR IS BLOCKING YOUR CALLER ID AND SENDING OUT THE BILLING NUMBER

What are the means that the local access carrier can block the caller ID and send the BTN instead? Could they block it by just removing the Call Party Number Screening feature on our PRIs? Pls advise. Thank you.

his software is a lot like yours, he needs to program his switch to look at your d for that information.. in a dms a software option is to ignore that field and insert a clid table.. in the merridian, we can do the same thing and send the main clid 0 on all calls and ignore the dn, or send the dn of just the did's.. let your provider know what you need and he can make it happen... one out of a hundred offices can not transmit your clid, your sending it, so your soft side is complete

Have your telco pass clid you are sending. They have screening table to make sure you are sending ( and they pass along) only numbers in your did range. If invalid clid sent by you, they send main billing number. Regardless, tell them to pass your clid. That way you control what is passed not them.

If the Call party screening is not set up correctly by Telco you could get only the BTN.

Just fixed it today. Three groups of 100 numbers and they only fixed 2 of 3 the first time.

Appreciate all the advise. Our telco reprovisioned call party screeing and rebuilt their translation.

Thanks a lot for your responses.
