I would like to set up the users in our call center to show the call center phone number in the caller id, rather than their own personal number. The problem is in that creating a shortcode with the caller id digits, I assume that it would bypass the many shortcodes we have used for outbound routing. When we upgraded to 4.0.10, it converted them to ARS, but somehow they got lost, so our vendor imported them back in as shortcodes.

We have 2 PRIs and in Illinois, we want all of the Band A calls (0-8 miles) to go to Local and all of the other calls to go to long distance PRI.

Help!

User shortcode take precendence over the system short codes, so if you create user short codes it would work.

I would do short codes for local area codes (312,630,773, assuming your downtown) to goout over you local PRI and then just do a [9]1N short code to go over the long distance pri.

So the user short codes would like like:

DO one of these for each area code
SC:[9]1312N
Feature:dial 3k1
Number:1312N
outgroup: which ever group is your local PRI

SC:[9]1N
Feature:dial 3k1
Number:1N
outgroup: which ever group is your LD PRI

THe way i have had to do this with 4.0/4.1 is add a new ARS with the right caller ID going out. THen add short codes to the users pointing to the new ARS.

Short code
9N
Dial
N
51 or what ever the new ARS is.

I have about 400 short codes.. because not all 312 numbers are in 0-8 miles, and some 773 numbers.

I suppose the few phones could automatically go out on the LD PRI even if they are local. I guess it wouldn;t be a big deal.
