Can someone help me here. I want to put a threshold on calls make on my CO Line. I use a definity Prologix. What programming do i need to do to make this possible.
Please define threshold. Do you want to reserve a certain number of trunks for incoming calls or are you trying to limit the total usage on a trunk group?
Actually users stay on the trunk lines for too long, so we what to place a limit on the trunk lines that if someone uses the trunk for the duration of more than 5 minutes the call is Dropped.
there is a feature that you need, but it is available only in cm 1.3.1+ if i remember correctly. to activate it, you need to change cor of the extension you'd like to limit, go to the second page and find the 'outgoing trunk disconnect timer' field. there you can set the limit in minutes which will be applied to all outgoing calls made from all extensions belonging to this cor. 1 minute before expiring the timer all parties on the call will be given a first warning tone, 30 seconds later there will be second warning tone, and when the timer is expired, the call will be disconnected automatically.
i think it's the one you want.
cm is communication manager, which is definity software from r11 up. you can check it easily, just enter 'display cor 0' command and scroll to second page, if there's 'outgoing trunk disconnect timer' field, then you have it. otherwise you may have to upgrade your system to latest release in order to get this feature.
