Call Pickup:Limit the number of rings

Hi,

14 users requested to have a single call pickup. When call comes in all 14 stations are ringing all at the same time. Users complain. Is there a way we can limit the number of rings when a call comes in?

 
The first thing that comes to mind for me is setting up bridged appearances on those phones and setting the ring to abbreviated but that chews up buttons on those phones and may or may not require changing how the calls come in. There could be other (better) ideas to solve your issue though.

Another (bad) idea is to set up an ACD hunt group with no agents and set up a bell on an analog port, set the port of the bell on the calls warning threshold and/or time warning threshold in the hunt group and have the users pickup the call from the hunt group via speed dial / autodial button. Of course, that makes it inconvenient for the users to get the call because you're going to have 14 people trying to get the call and pushing buttons and eventually they don't like you and you look like a fool.

I may have my forum rights revoked for this but that's life.
 
sip phones? Because reading the feature description and implementation guide, only the main phone in the pickup group rings. You can enable call pickup alerting for a visual indication on the members of the pickup group.

The feature generally is for people within earshot of each other. It would appear SIP phones also support audible alerting - maybe that's a default on the phones and why they're all ringing

and, as of 6.2, you can set a timer for how long they alert visually and audibly
