I want to set up my short code to make it easier to pick up a parked call cause *38*(the extension plus 0/1/2)# is way to much for someone to remember.

I have tried to build a short code of *72/Dial/N Just learning this product.

I use the following:

*72X Park Call N
*78X Unpark Call N

I use these because 72=PC as in [P]ark [C]all and 78=PU as in [P]ickp.

This will give you access to 10 system park zones.

I have used similar short codes and they work great. If your customer uses park a lot this would be the ideal shortcodes. We had a customer that only used it every now and then and we gave them 2 park slots, one on each button.

If you are setting up a park button why do you need short codes?

Park buttons are typically setup as:
CPark 1
CPark 2
CPark 3
etc
You simply press the button to put the call on park and press again to pick the call up (or on some model phones you press the button and select pickup but you get the point)

When using short codes you TRANSFER the call to the short code (i.e TRANSFER *721 TRANSFER to send the call to park zone 1). The answering user then dials *781 to pick the call up.

They can also be used together. Someone with a CPark 1 button can put the call on park 1 by simply pressing the button and then another user who may not have this button can dial *781 to pick the call up.

I have the *72x/park/N built as a short code. How do I pick that up?

Ok so I put CPark1, Cpark2, cpark3 on 3 buttons on the set. but the system is parking the call on 34000. So to pick that up I have to dial *38*34000#

What I have done is create shortcodes for my park slots:
*741 (1 being the park slot)
Park Call
N

Then on the user's phone in button programming I do this:
Call Park 1 (label)
Call Park (Action)
*741 (Action Data)

You would replicate this for the other park slots and buttons.

Ok let's stop for a moment. Stop everything you are doing and follow these instructions.

1) On TWO different phones program a button of CPark 1.
2) Call one of the two phones and answer the call.
3) From the phone on which you answered the call press the CPark 1 butotn.
4) On both phones you should now see that the CPark 1 button is lit up.
5) Press the CPark button on the 2nd phone to retrieve the call.

Ok that works but I cant dial *721 to pick up parked call cause some of my phones dont have enough buttons

Short Code: *72X
Feature: Park Call
Tel Number: N

To pickup the call
Short Code: *78X
Feature: Unpark Call
Tel Number: N


To park either press a CPark button or TRANSFER *72 plus 1-9 then TRANSFER again.

To pickup the call either press the CPark button or dial *78 plus 1-9

I apologize but I do not think I explain it in a way that is any more clear.

The transfer option works but you we are only able to park the call on a phone and pick up from the same phone

If you follow my post above that shows the config you should be able to answer the call and then put the call on Call Park 1 and then go to any phone with Call Park 1 and press the button and pick up the call. If the phone does not have the button you will have to use the Unpark shortcode.

On your buttons under the action field DO NOT USE DIAL. Use Emulation>Call Park (or is it Park Call, one of those)
