Is there any way to create a call park button then allow the user to input a specified park zone after they press the button?

I can do this from a shortcode, but I seem to be struggling to do this specific function from a button. I am probably just missing something stupid.

I create two short codes and then assign them to buttons.

*72XX (I use 72 because it is the letters PC as in Park Call)
Park Call
N

*78XX (I use 78 because it is the letters PU as in Pick Up)
Unpark Call
N

Then your buttons can be
Label: Park Call
Feature: Dial
Data: *72

Label: Unpark Call (or whatever)
Feature: Dial
Data: *78

The user then presses the button followed by the 2 digit park zone.

What type of phone?
Most phones ca ndo this from the menu so then you don't need any buttons for it.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Just make your call park button dial your short code instead of making it an actual shortcode!

Its a 5420 and a 5410.

I will give that a shot, thanks a lot Kyle.

Yea, lol.. I thought I tried that... I must have did something wrong the first time.

* I mean

make your call park button a Dial as per Kyles solution

users enters park slot

(brain working faster than hands can deal with)

Yea... I am an idiot.. was making the feature as Call Park instead of just Dial.

Brain fart for the morning :)

Thanks Guys.

I found you have to Hold the call first, then use the park key that dials the SC

(just tested)

Or just hit transfer and the short code button.

I've got 6 park slots set up for the remote office - using 5610's - button programming - Action is "Call Park" and each button has it's own Action Data number (1-6). By pressing this button they can toggle a call into/outof park - no need for 2 shortcodes. (although I do use the shortcodes for the 5602's!)

Interesting,

Was not aware of that.

Thanks for the update.

I am consuming 6 buttons - but I don't need them for anything else.

The office use park slots to transfer calls between stations as it often involves use of a tanoy to contact the person required.

Actions are:
Call comes in and answered by front office.
Call parked in a slot (1-6)
front office Tanoy for required person
Person calls the front office and is told which park slot their call is
Person presses the appropriate park button on their phone (or dials the shortcode if on a 5402)

You could create a 'personal' or even 'group' park slot rather than have the 6 I have. Depends on how busy your system is really.

Phone manager?
It has 4 park slots.
Just click om it and you are done.

Phone manager - yup - ok if you have users that like using it ... :)

I don't like it either.
But it works.
