OK folks, I think I have completely lost it. I used to be able to dial our call park access code and go to a different phone and retrieve it by dialing our call pickup access code. What the !!@^&$%$&(!! am I doing wrong? I know this used to work. I must of had a stroke or something.

S8710 VOIP 4610swip

Please help

Thanks,
Rick

OK phoneguy that apparently took care of half of my stroke damage. I was using the wrong access code to retrieve but I had to put a call-park button on my test phone to get it to park. I still cannot park the call by simply dialing the call park code. I'm half way there.

Thanks,
Rick

Try it on a analog phone. Use the flash. The digital sets use the buttons.

For the best response to a question, read FAQ222-2244.

On a digital set, press the TRANSFER button before dialing the call park code.

Sorry folks for the delay in getting back to you. I forgot to mention I am using only 4610swip phones. I still am unable to park a call and retrieve it from another station unless I install a call-park button on the phone I wish to park, although I am able to retrieve the call from a phone that does not have a call-park button. I am not sure now if I am overlooking something or if the call-park button is a definite requirement on the phone being parked. I could have sworn I did this once before without the call-park button, but by just using access codes.

Tks,
Rick

First make sure you don't have console permissions. Then transfer fac transfer. Then goto another extension and answer back XXXX.

Excellent Phoneguy! I forgot I had console permissions I set to make an announcement with a while back. I put it back and it worked. I knew I had done this before but forgot and didn't make a note of it for my records. I was doing several things wrong.

By the way, here is something kind of interesting. Useless information but none the less, if you make a call to another station, then transfer, then fac, then go to another station and answerback fac XXXX, you can retrieve the call and have music on hold during your conversation. I know you are supposed to transfer fac and transfer, but I found this out just by a fluke. Really weird.

So if anyone wants to know how to have music on hold and a conversation at the same time, voila'.

Thanks everyone for your help and input.

Rick

rick4610,

i've seen something like that in the list of fixed bugs for cm 3.1.2.
