Hello, I have a Option 11c and had an engineer on site carring out some upgrades and testing- I noticed that he had a piece of software which when he made a call through the switch showed him the exactly number which he was ringing and other usefull information like the path the call was taking through the switch. Does anyone have any idea of what software this was? I dont think that it was done in one of the LD's but could be wrong ( sorry didnt ask the engineer).
Thanks

There are three basic commands:
? TRAT for tracing attendant consoles
? TRAC for tracing sets and trunks
? TRAD for tracing calls through Computer PBX Interface (CPI),
Digital Trunk Interface (DTI), Primary Rate Interface, or Digital
Link Interface (DLI) loops.
The TRAC command can be used to print the tone detector TN if a tone
detector is used at the time of the call trace.
Generic software enables the printing of auxiliary data related to a call. The
auxiliary data consists of information associated with the NARS/BARS/CDP
features, if equipped, and the Ring Again (RGA) feature. This additional data
can be retrieved by appending DEV to any of the TRAC commands.
Example: TRAC L S C U DEV

If he was calling from just one phone, and wasn't touching the terminal, he may have been using ENTC.

ENTC l s c u t Enable the enhanced trace command for a TN.
This command enables the trace capability for the TN specified.
Note that this command does not start the trace immediately.
Use the GOTR command to begin the trace operation.
Where: l = loop, s = shelf, c = card, u = unit and t = the length of
time the trace command operates.
The format for the trace command duration (t) is HHMM, where
HH = hours (0-23)and MM = minutes (0-59). For example, for a
duration of 5 minutes, t = 0005; for 1 hour, t = 0100
The time duration must be at least 1 minute, and no more than
23 hours.

ENTD l ch t Enable the enhanced trace command for a digital trunk.
This command enables the trace capability for the TN specified.
Note that this command does not start the trace immediately.
Use the GOTR command to begin the trace operation.
Where: l = loop, s = shelf, c = card, u = unit and t = the length of
time the trace command operates.

duration must be at least 1 minute, and no more than 23 hours.

GOTR Begin enhanced trace commands. This command starts the
trace operation specified with the ENTC and ENTD commands.

I tried it.

the xx's are actual data, but I didn't feel like sharing that much. :)

He was probably using enhanced trace.

tnphoneman sumarized it for you. Enhanced Trace.

Enhanced trace doesn't work on the Option 11C

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Yes it does.

Just tried it.

OK let me revise my answer. It doesn't work on any Option 11 from 25.40b and older. I've never worked on anything newer then a 25.40B, so I don't know if it does or not, but it looks like it does from your post.
