is there any way for an s8300 to examine the incoming call number and direct calls from certain incoming numbers to a set extension

Try using incoming call handling page.

INCOMING CALL HANDLING TREATMENT
Service/ Called Called Del Insert Per Call Night
Feature Len Number CPN/BN Serv
Type in the incoming number delete all 11 insert extension.

Works well

Hope this helps

1a2 to ip I seen it all

By the incoming call number I mean the call line id not the number dialled to get into the switch...

eg if i use a mobile to call the switch I want to examine the mobile callers number and route the calll differently for different incoming mobile numbers..

The only way that I know to do this is using a vector and using ANI=432xxxx route to ?? steps.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

Vector routing tables? go to step/vector x if ani in/not in table x, where table is the vector routing table. Add vrt x to add a new table, stick the full numbers in there, up to 100 per table, if you want a wildcard entry suffix the dial/area code with +, eg 07909+ for all numbers in the 07909 UK Cell range.

Hope that helps
