Call-Fwd Insists on dialing to local station numbers.

Is there some way to get it to dial external numbers?
Is there some newbie mistake I'm over looking?

thanks,

Check COS for the station (disp st XXXX). Check the COS settings (disp COS). Make sure the station has a COS that has Call Fwd-All Calls = y, Restrict Call Fwd-Off Net = n...

Dialtone is right on procedures.

One word of caution for this feature: Call Fwd-Off Net.

John Doe can have his DID number forwarded to Grandma in Florida and let John Doe's son say Happy Birthday to Grandma from home on your company's dime. Florida is cheap but some overseas calls can be expensive.

I only allow certain people with this COR and for short period of time.

kcbell highlights a big risk...

I manage a major client and our policy is to only set up offsite forwarding when a manager approves the request to a specific number, implying a valid business need.
We set up the offsite forwarding using a non-DID extension, and using the Uniform Dialing Plan.
I can send you the procedure we use (involves AAR Analysis, Route pattern and the UDP) if you want to try that route.
Just send me your email address.
