I need to set up an auto attendant notifying callers that the number has changed. I also want to give them the option to press 1 to be automatically connected to the new number.

The new number is long distance and we require account codes to make long distance calls. I can't seem to get the 3 digit account code in anywhere. When the call is forwarded, it asks the caller to enter the code.

Anyway around this? Where/how do I enter the code so the caller doesn't get asked for it?

Thanks.

If you had a number and disconnected it ,request carrier to install a number change annoumcement for 90 days, may be a charge for it, depending! If you really want to press1,
set a station and call fwd off site with the number, set up with (example) 918005559999*****1234: find out how many seconds it takes from the time you dial the number to when the Acct code request is presented (on average) each "*" equals 1 sec, but you might have to play with it.

In my opinion, the better way is to set up a simple vector with an announcement saying " the number has changed, please call the new number xxxx".
In this way, first, you teach the callers to place calls to the new number, second, if you receive a call on a trunk and transfer it off net, you take an outgoing trunk for doing that and you pay the bill for all the time the call is active.

Hope this helps

I've been asked to set this up by a sub tenant that resides in our building. They were on our PBX but decided to install their own and now they have all new numbers. The sub tenant is going to pay the fee for all calls being transferred which is why we have account codes.

I'm only allowing them the option to transfer the call for a short period of time then I'm going to change the announcement and only give the new number.

The real problem is this...even thought the number changed it's still a local number. The tenant still resides in our building but the local phone company has a problem with their PBX translations because when you dial the new number from our building, it rings busy. My PBX routing patterns are correct. I've dialed the new number using a POTS line and it still rings busy which means it's a phone company problem. The tenant has placed a trouble ticket with their new LEC but in the meantime, they've asked that I set up the call transfer so that we can go over our LD trunks. I'm trying to do this but can't get passed the system asking for the account code. Is there a way to transfer a call off net and set it up so I can include the account code so the caller doesn't hear it?

Thank you for all the suggestions!
