We just replaced all of our phones with M3904. My boss now tells me when he forwards his main line to voice mail (when he is in a meeting) that his DIG (Intercom) is still ringing. I know you can't forward the Intercom, but he "claims" that previously it just "flashed" or "beeped once" and didn't continually ring. Any ideas?

i didnt think it was possible to turn the ring option off for DIG.

from the NTP:
Voice or ring may be specified on a DIG basis for Meridian 1 proprietary
telephones. If voice is specified, an idle station rings once for two seconds.
The calling party is then connected and may make a voice announcement. If
ring is implemented, normal ringing is received until the called party answers.
This feature provides the option of an announcement or a two-way speech
path

You can turn the ring off on the intercom, when you build the key you designate R or V ring or voice

Is it possible that prior to the 3904, he was using a MSB (Make busy) key to "forward" his calls, and now he is using the CFW key?

No, he had a Forward key, so I'm sure that is what he was using.

Does anyone know exactly what the CLS FICA (Forward Intercom) is actually for?
