Actually it was J169 on SIP, we changed it to H.323 due to some requirements. This extension has been programmed to receive 3 calls. One this user is on a call and another call ring he hit release/drop button to drop the ongoing call so that he may take another ringing call but it does not work, i mean the release/drop button dont work.
You shouldn't have to hit a Drop or Release button. When on the first call and a second call comes in, try just pressing the button associated with the second call. That should disconnect the first and pick up the second.
Hi Pal,
i tried and hit the button where second call was ringing, the first call get on Hold. The user was saying that i drop/release button was working perfectly in there old CM Release 5. They are now on CM 8.1
Check your system features - display system-parameters features
On page 6 (or thereabouts) look for the Auto Hold feature.
If set to "y" then pressing a second ringing call-appearance will place the active call-appearance on hold and answer the second.
If set to "n" then pressing a second ringing call-appearance will disconnect the active call-appearance and answer the second.
This is a system-wide feature and will affect all users. Some may be happy with how the new system works so be careful when making changes.
Rather than changing the feature, you can program softkeys to help with the situation. The two that would work for you are: Answer Hold - Place the active call on hold and answer the ringing call-appearance Answer Drop - Disconnect the active call and answer the ringing call-appearance
These soft-keys only show when the phone is on a call and a second call comes in. I believe these are there by default but you may need to check your 46xxsettings.txt file.
