call distribution across multiple switches

Hello everyone,

I have a support question,

The scenario would be that company "A" has 3 G3's networked together (QSIG)

1. Is it possible to have a hunt group to a voice mail/gateway that contains members of all 3 switches switches?

For example; the hunt group has a QSIG link from each of the 3 switches (if possible). If any link drops, a user would still be able to access the system by dialing the hunt group.

One way is to udp the Voicemail number in all the remote G3's and "route" the calls to the G3 that "owns" the voicemail system. In the Voicemail system you will have to open the DID ranges. This also means that you cannot have duplicate extension numbers accross the G3's.

In order to use Centralized Voice Mail (Intuity, AUDIX, or Octel) you would need Distributed Communications System (DCS) software activated on each switch.

Ed, Kevin, Thanks for the feedback.

I am "thinking" this through for a customer. The goal is high availability. If any link is out of service, as long as there is 1 path available there can be access to the voice gateway (VG).

Could this centralized VG have mixed integrations to it and still be accessible to every user across all the G3's?

example;

S8700 "A" is using Voip to access the VG
S8700 "B" is using E1/Qsig to access the VG
S8700 "C" is using DSE (8434 set emulation) to access the VG

If any of the links are down, will all users still be able to access the VG as long as 1 is available?
