First of all thank you all excellent help i get from this forum. I was handed to administer my pbx in office not officially though :( and i'm just IT support

Need help in follow request
have 8800 and definity
- setup auto attend with following
- call directs to greeting msg
- press 1 to dial by extension (use 5 digit ext)
- press 2 to dial by name
- press 3 to talk to live person
no voice, keep repeating

any help guidance will help - know little bit about vdn, vector n announcements (very beginner)

Your voicemail system might have that more easily setup - especially dial by name.
Newer releases of CM - probably your 8800 too - have a dial by name in the PBX

So, what you're looking for is vectors - they let you build stuff out like that, much like BASIC programming.

You'd list vectors and find an unused one, say 101. Then you'd "add vdn 1234" and point it to vector 101. That will let you have dialable number 1234 go to that vector.

Here's a good thread on the rest:

Nailed it - thanks

Question though - i setup same way but it goes to voicemail of extension instead rining....any idea?

you can, in a terminal, not GEDI, do a "list trace vector 5" to watch processing through vector 5 for a test.

Also, VDN's have CORs - classes of restriction. Dunno if you left it default at 1 and normally COR1 in a system is locked down by default so you have to change the COR of anything you build just to make you aware of things and not open things up by adding stuff.

you can also try just a "route-to 5555" in a vector to see if it'll route straight there to ext 5555 without thinking.

Try a few stations too, you can "status station 5555" and see if "SAC Enabled: yes", then that guy would be sending all his calls to voicemail.

That was it - i chose wrong COR value - it seems to be routing it correct!

Thank you for your help!!

another thing - is there something i can add in vec so if caller dial less than 5 digits, it take it to announcement (you must dial 5 digit ext recording)

you'd have to wait for a digit timeout - that's a system wide setting, but presuming you have no leading 0's in your dialplan, maybe goto step 1 if digits <9999 else continue to route-to digits

let say i want caller to be able to dial only between range (i.e, 43500-43599) is it possible?

goto step 1 if digits <43500
goto step 1 if digits >43599
route-to digits
