Hi all,

Our customers was not happy when we upgraded him from 2.1 to 3.0. He has a 403 pri, DS16 and uses 6408 phones.
Main reasons are the call appearance buttons. He was very happy with the way it worked in 2.1, but in 3.0 you are not busy untill all call appearance is use.

The customer still wants at least two appereance buttons, but also wants to return busy tone while being on only one call (second appearance is idle).

return to 2.1 is no option since we also use 5610 phones.

Has anyone a suggestion for this ? We have vm pro as well.

Get the most recent (November) maintenance release of 3.0.

In the Users Source numbers tab, enter the string RESERVE_LAST_CA= and send the config back to the system with a full reboot.

It has the effect of reserving the user last CA button for outgoing call usage only. Intended prinicpally for transfers etc, since, as people have notice, when all your CA's are in use its very hard to transfer a call.

So if your user has two call appearances, the second call will get busy immediately. Drawback is that they won't get any display that the second call was ever there.

Ok, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when testing with my IP Office in the past (we just moved so I don't have access to it right now). The testing I did showed that even if you only had one call appearance, you could still transfer/conference calls.

I may be wrong, wouldn't be a first, but I could have sworn...
 
You'd hope it would be that way but is certainly isn't on my system. With a single call appearance I'm really in trouble doing anything with the Transfer button, I have to do transfers using PhoneManager.

If I have no call appearances then I can use the transfer button, but things such as the call log don't work as they somehow work of the appearnace buttons.
