Hi Guys

I'm using MS Outlook 2000 on an NT4.0 PC and cannot set reminders in the calendar as I get the message ' The reminder will not appear because the item is not in your calendar or task folder'

I'm confused - Any idea's out there?

Thanks for your help in advance

What are you using as yourprimary calendar? I assume there is an Exchange server involved. Are you having your mail delivered to a personal folder rather than keeping it on the exchange server?

I've set a rule for the e-mails to be delivered to a personal folder from the inbox.
And nothing is stored in the inbox which resides on an exchange server.

I hope this helps

Do me one favor and go to TOOLS - SERVICES - DELIVERY.

Check where it says "Deliver new mail to the location" if the mail is set to deliver to the Exchange mailbox or to the personal folder.

From you last answer I am just not clear if you have a rule running to move items to your personal folder but maybe the delivery is still set to the Exchange mailbox.

Some how Outlook is trying to setup your reminders on what is not your primary calendar.

If it is set to deliver mail to Exchange mailbox and you still want mail coming to your personal folder you may want to change this option so that it also uses your local calendar for reminders rather than the Exchange mailbox.

What you find will hopefully clear this up when you check.

It's set to Deliver to the Personal folder.

First suggestions is try opening Outlook using the /cleanreminders switch.

And just to be sure that there is no misunderstanding, you are setting up your appointments\reminders on your calendar in the personal folder and not on the Exchange server. I was thinking that you were talking about meeting requests which should be trying to set this up in your personal folder calendar automatically but at this point I didn't want to assume anything.

If the switch does not help resolve your issue it is possible that you have a damaged folder but let's just hope that is not the issue.
