I'm have an .mdb file made in Access 2003 using the ActiveX Calendar 11 control and I wan't to copy this file in a PC using Access XP (this Access uses the ActiveX Calendar 10).
How can I install the ActiveX Calendar 11 control in the target machine that uses Access XP??? I don't wanna install the full Access 2003, only the calendar control.

Thanx.

PS.sorry for my poor english

Hi,

You need to copy the MSCal.ocx file over to the other pc. You may have to register the control through the Tools|ActiveX Controls... menu option.

I have not used version 11 of the calendar control, but I prefer to use the Date & Time Picker Control, as it is MUCH better. It provides a dropdown that displays a much more functional, user-friendly calendar. It is part of 'Windows Common Controls 2' (MSCOMCT2.ocx), and can be found here amongst other places:

I always had problems using the other calendar control where users would enter incorrect dates, due to the fact that you had to make your selection in a certain order (i.e: year first, then month, then day). Users would click the day then select the month/year, but the date does not get updated correctly when done in that order. Not sure if this has been sorted out with version 11, so I may be ranting for nothing, but I would still recommend the much more robust DTPicker control.

Dean ;-)

There's a file on my website called dtPicker that creates a calendar form using the dtPicker api, so you don't have to worry about installing ocx's or making sure you have the correct version.
It's all self contained & pretty easy to use.
Have a look & if you get stuck, give me a shout.

Dean, you are right... DTPicker is great... but there is a problem w/that control. Access 2003 uses new graphic desing in forms. Text boxes are now flat, and they look nice... I liked DTPicker, but I couldn't make it look flat like the other textboxes in the form. Do I explain myself?

Here is a screenshot, so you can see what I mean.

Ben... your calendar form is nice, but it's in english, and the soft I'm developing is in spanish... I've done something alike your calendar form using the MSCal control included in Access.
