I am using Access97.

In one of the forms I am using a message keeps popping up at the bottom of
the screen saying it is calculating and in the process of doing so it counts
down from the current record I am on until it gets to #1; at which point I
have to scroll back up to the record I was working on. In the beginning
(when I only had a few records) this was only happening about once every 2
or 3 records, now it is happening every few minutes (now there are about 300
or 400 records). What is this and how can I stop it??

Thanks in advance for the help.

I think we would need to know what "event" or movement you do on/to the form that commences this reaction. Is your form based on a query or a table? If the former are you inducing some sort of a lookup? Are you using any "Wizard" built or self built buttons or other controls? Do you know if this form has any connection to any other open forms? Thanks,
Gord

This just keeps happening while the user is inputing records.

The form is linked to several different query's and runs several different macros and events during the course of entering records. The calculating does not happen at any specific time or place during the entering of records.

I think to continue we will need a bit more info again:
If you cannot find out exactly when the issue starts, start to disconnect your macros one by one, each time testing to see the results. If/When you find the offending macro let us know what it is doing. Gord
