We need help with a problem we are facing. At home we have an AMD ATHELON Processor with Windows XP. We have a Time Warner Cable Modem for our internet connection. After we Install SSH Sentinel for our VPN connection, our cable modem internet connection stops working. Hence we cannot access VPN and also we are unable to use internet. However when we uninstall SSH the internet starts working again.

Has anybody faced the same problem before? Any help on this is appreciated.

Did the connection to the Internet stop working immediately after the SSH Sentinel installation, or did it stop working only after making configuration changes to it once it was installed?

My guess, and yes this is just a guess, is that an error was made in the setting for Remote Network under the Add VPN Connection dialog box. The address (the addresses are actually typed into the Network Editor dialog box) that should be entered is the local network address of the VPN server that you are connecting to. For instance, as default for connecting to a Linksys device, the setting for IP Address would be 192.168.1.0 and the subnet mask would be 255.255.255.0.

Anyway, that's my guess. If the Internet stops working immediately after the installation, prior to making any configuration changes to SSH Sentinel, then I'm not sure where the problem is coming from.

Good luck. Be sure to post back if you have questions on how to configure SSH Sentinel...

The cable internet connection stopped working as soon as I installed SSH Sentinel. To work around this problem we tried using the internet installation cd given by the cable guys just to try and install insternet again and it gave a "stop error" saying that there is a problem with the "NDIS.sys" (driver)file.

Any help to figure this out is greatly appreciated!!!
