i was just wondering what is better to use for a cable modem an ethernet card from lets say linksys or a gigabit ethernet controller by marvel that is on my intel motherboard. i just dont see why anyone would buy a pci ethernet card if a motherboard already comes with 1. if anyone can help clear this up it would be great, i just wanna know the fastest way to go with a cable modem.

If you already have one integrated on your motherboard, just use it. No need to buy an add-in ethernet card. The exception would be if your Marvel is not gigabit, and your LAN is gigabit capable, you would benefit with a new add-in card that supports gigabit for the extra speed.

sounds good to me thanx again for the response
