Hello,

I would like to install c# 2005 in my computer which has already Visual C# 2003. Is there any information about everything I should aware of ?

Thanks

Pujo

I would install it in a Virtual PC (or VMWare) if you can, or if not, make a separate installation of Windows to install it into, since it is Beta and they say with their beta software stuff that it "might cause problems" or you might have to reformat/reinstall to get rid of it. I just picked up the VS2005 B1 myself yesterday at a conference, it's going into a virtual machine until I see how stable it is.

Would it be possible to install it in my single pc, I don't have Virtual PC, and I'm new to it. Is Virtual PC can be installed in single PC?

How hard is it to work between Visual C# 2003 and 2005?

Pujo

Like the earlier poster said, you can do it, but you might have problems.

Well if you install, you might want to make a "system restore" point. (Start->Help and Support, click "Undo changes to your computer with System Restore " and make a restore point.)

If you would like to just give it a try, you can download a trial of Virtual PC and install windows in this then install vs2005 on top of that. A lot of work, but it could save you from having to 1)use system restore to recover 2)have to reformat/reinstall

Another strong vote for not installing beta software on a machine you need/count on. I was burned by the original VS.NET beta on this one, and will never do it again.

Heck, even Microsoft was using it from within a Virtual PC session when I attended a conference of them demoing some new features of the 2005 edition. :)

I use VB 6 and Visual C 6 together with the 2005 Betas without problems, without Virtual PC or VMWare.

Sky those should be able to co-exist peacefully, as VS6 and VS2003 can. However, VS2003 and VS2005 would have a very good chance of conflicting.
