I am trying to figure out how to bypass the startup autoexec macro only for certain users (my program handles it's own login processing). Does anyone have an example of the basic code to do this? I am running Access 2002.

One way to do it is to tell Access what macro you want executed at startup via the startup command-line options. You would do this via the shortcut properties.

For example,

"\\path\msaccess.exe" "\\path\YourDb.mdb" /x macroname

Another way to to it is to have the autoexec macro call a startup function. And in that function, decide what to do depending on the user.

I guess that I wasn't clear about what I wanted to do. I would like to have the Shift key bypass into Access disabled for certain users, while other users would not have access to the Shift key bypass.

Thanks,
