Take the phone off hook and hit RLS 
That will silence the phone enough, but beep once to let you know to at least look at the display to see if its your boss.
For MSB to work, you need two appearances of the DN (the second can be anywhere, including on the same phone as the first), otherwise, the caller will truly get "Busy"
