Button Back Colors 1

O.K., why in the world can't you change the back color of buttons. I have used VB6 and done it. Do I have to do something ridiculous like create a custom button? Is it me or does it seem like Microsoft likes to have developers checking into rubber rooms? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Access wasn't originally design for developers. It was designed for that clerk to create a small office database. I believe you can get around this buy creating the button, making it invisible but active, and then creating an image and laying it on top of the invisible button. Play with it and see what you can do.

Oh, and there is software out there where you can make custom buttons. Do a search in the Access forums and you should find threads with links to several companies... Terry

Don't mean to rag on MS. It just seems more often than not the line between two points is never a straight line. I guess that's true of any developing. Anyway, the invisible thing is a good idea. To be honest I don't think my employer wants me to spend too much time on this so I won't persue the custom control thing, but thanks again.

If you don't have too many combinations of colours and text in your requirement, have you thought about some bmp files or creating your own icons? If you go into the picture property of the button you can use either .bmp or .ico files from the Browse option from the build button. Sandy

Thanks Sandy, thats a good idea too but I dont really have the time to play around with that kind of stuff now. I tried that and it is relatively easy but I'll save that for when I bring this DB to an interview. Thanks again.
