We have the business query software, which uses excel to display BO reports. I've been using BO for a short amount of time and have just started using BQ as well. I was wondering if VBA in BQ was the same as VBA in BO, or does it mainly utilise Excel VBA?

The reason i'm asking is that i would like to automate several reports in a single excel workbook using BQ, I have easily been able to automate BO reports using scheduled tasks and auto open routines (eg:- refresh, save as, export as pdf), and need to find out if it is just as easy to achieve using BQ?

Hello Funk,

In the past I have worked with business query, so my information may be a bit old. Since Excel is at the receiving end of the data retrieved using the query panel from reporter, the VBA in Excel will only work at the dataset that is downloaded to Excel. In fact BO just works as a fancy interface compared to the use of Microsoft query that comes with the office installation. This query tool is actually a pig to use, but you can get quit far with it if you are into SQL .......... T. Blom
