My 4000 series loops from bootstrap to IOS and never reaches a command prompt. The bootstrap (v 5.2 (11a)) produces the following message:

F3: 8552+2532135+165008 at 0x12000

It then announces that it is self decompressing the image. After the report that this is OK, the IOS loads (11.1(24)) and very quickly produces the following bus errors:

Bus Error control register: 0x0fc0f0af
Bus Error, address: 0xfffde010 at 0x2f958c (PC)

The process then begins again. I have tried using an older IOS and the router does boot, but the 'router' command I am looking for in order to configure IGRP is then not available.

I would be extremely grateful if someone could help me out of this hole as I have a token-ring and DHCP set-up to get fully tested in, as usual, the next five minutes.

Many Thanks

Jibber.

One big question do you have enough ram and flash to hold the image. I would guess that this could be the problem. This is just a guess. You might want to check with Cisco.

Hope this helps
Rob Brown
