Burning CD/DVD in Vista

I am using Roxio 9 and saw some interesting thins going on when I burnt a DVD for the first time in vista.
Got the red shield saying my PC was not protected (odd as I am running Kaspersky Internet Security).
The DVD seemed to burn, ejected OK, but was still showing as burning.
My mate had a problem when burning too, think he was running Ashampoo burner, where it could not detect the burnable drives, maybe hardware related there though.

Anyone else got / experienced a similar problem
