I have an Asus A7V mobo with 64mb RAM and a 800mhz AMD Thunderbird proc all running on a 300watt power supply.
When I hook it all up and double check everything, I power the beast up and it kicks on for about 4-5 sec and the whole
thing shuts down including the power supply.

I am baffled any input on this would be very helpful in my quest to building my machine.

more details would be needed in my opinion, do you even get a BIOS screen. you may even have the Processor setup incorrectly, also are you using PC100 or PC133 SD-rams, this would definitly require chaging in the BIOS if it's a ram situation. Yank everything off the motherboard, and put back only the video card. Boot. If you get a POST, then hook up the floppy. Boot. If successful POST, then hook up HD. Boot....
You get the idea. [sig]
Jim
reboot@pcmech.com
<a href= & Sue's Free Files
Current moderator at Staff contributor/moderator at Windows 9x/ME instructor.
