Hi Everyone-

I really need some help with this. My Win2k Pro box is continually crashing with the following error.....

"The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000035 (0x810f4628, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini121001-01.dmp"

I get this message every other day. I have IIS running hosting my website, bulletproof ftp for my ftp site, and then use the PC as a desktop for whatever else I need. Now I know that won't make sense to people who have servers for that, but funds are low, so 1 PC for everything. It has 128 MB of SDRAM. I don't know if it is the RAM, because I have heard that it maybe causing it.

Any and all help or suggestions are welcome and very much appreciated.

Bugcheck is the Windows 2000 term for BSOD. The Bugcheck screen or the memory dump should give you a clue as to which application or file is causing it.

The one thing I don't like about Windows 2000 is that it can crash like this, and instead of giving you a nice blue screen like NT 4, it either automatically reboots or gives you a blank screen.

Here is an update on this problem.....

I have tried new ram, no luck.

I have tried a new nic, no luck, however there is a lot less packets lost.

Repair of Win2k Pro, still no luck. Still the same error.

The blue screens gives me info about IRP stack size being too small or something like that. Chaged it from 11 to 15 the max that Win2k Pro allows. Still doesn't work.

I need help! Please, any suggestions comments would be A LOT of help. I have everyone stumped that I know who should know the answer to this.

I am going to try a few more things, but if none of them work, I am going to do a clean install of Win2k and see if that helps.

btw, this was all caused by Norton Personal Firewall 2000

upgraded to NPF2001 and it has been up every since....

I had lots of problems when I installed Norton Internet Security. IE kept Dr. Watson-ing, and other problems cropped up. Honestly, I'd recommend ditching Norton firewall and get ZoneAlarm. It's a superior product and has caused me no problems whatsoever.
