I have never seen this one in any PBX I have ever been in.

BUG0495 Circular linked list is probably broken (i.e., have looped more than the maximum
no. of sons allowed). Procedure REMOVE_SON

What the hell is this?

OK your making us guess at what your doing, can you post a scan of what you were doing when this happened.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I am doing nothing. this is coming up during the day.
Just an error that pops up.
First time I have seen it appear in any Northern PBX.

I have no idea what it is pertaing to and I have spoken with other techs.

Same response from them as well.

My PRIs run perfect my PBX hasn't had any major issues.

I am running 3.0 s/w witth CPP processors and also running the latest Deplist.
I can't find anything on the Nortel website! (go figure)

So that is why I posted to see if anyne has seen this before.

actually its MPLR21504 for 3.0 CPP system. Patch is not part of the deplist

That patch is marked OBSOLETE and replaced by MPLR18356 which is not public.

This particular patch deals with an M911 PSAP environment. Is this the scenario you have? If not, there may be some further investigation required.

Crossed posts. I was refering to MPLR12787 for clarification.

Yes MPLR21504 is one of MANY patches dealing with a BUG0495. I would not just start throwing patches at this without understanding what the exact issue is, but that's just me.

Don't install patches based on what people on forums tell you without first checking with your maintenance provider. (In other words, use us as a reference to help you troubleshoot an issue, then get your maintenance provider to vet any suggestions that are made here.)

With that said, the error message is a message that is only meaningful to the developers the term "SON" refers to child procedures and has to do with the software architecture of the system. As a CPE TSE in a TAC environment, I have had very limited exposure to the developers. So I can't tell you anything about procedure REMOVE_SON. Except that it's a procedure that is intended to remove child procedures from the stack.

However, the developer-speak isn't really useful to your problem. What 911guru said, we need a scan of the screen including any information that gets printed with the BUG0495 message.

Once we have a better idea of your environment (including any applications you have implemented) and the scan of the actual BUG error message, then we will be better positioned to guess at what is causing the message.

As a general rule, I would recommend you update your system to the latest and greatest DEPLIST for your software version. Deplists for release 3.0 and prior I think are no longer being updated. But once you have the latest deplist, you have a foundation to start your troubleshooting.

(Small segue way from the topic at hand, my favorite error message is when the technicians fail to install the latest deplist for a system during the system installation, and then the customer complains the following week of myriad problems... of course the problem is having a deplist that is 6+ months out of date, or because no deplist was installed at all.)

This is what appears

% BUG495 % BUG495 + 0066CD02 0093986E 00696AC2 0069617D 005D50CA % BUG495 + 005D4A8A 005D48A4 005D228A 005A75D1 0055A7A2

Code:
% BUG495
% BUG495 + 0066CD02 0093986E 00696AC2 0069617D 005D50CA
% BUG495 + 005D4A8A 005D48A4 005D228A 005A75D1 0055A7A2

Unfortunately, this stack dump is meaningless to anyone but GNTS 3rd level or Nortel developers.

Please perform the following:

If you are release 3.0 or earlier

LD 22
TID
ISSP

If you are release 4.0 or greater

LD 22
TID
LD 143
MDP ISSP

Post the results, I'll run a MIRCC for you and get you the delta between your current patch level and your desired patch level.

PS, I'm not offering to do this for anyone and everyone at any time, in case anyone wants this kind of thing done, it should be something your vendor does for you.

I already ran a conflict report.
I am up to date minus any non-public patches.
My status says "Tech user" but I used to work for a vendor so I still have access to alot of resources.

I figured that I would have to refer this to Nortel I was just curious what you guys could come up with.

As you can see, most of those are related to CCB and CallPilot. If this doesn't describe you, then you're probably going to have to refer to Nortel. Sorry
