I have query in relation to btrbox and yould be grateful for any advice that you may have. We are running a DOS application that access a pervasive database using a DOS requester. Since we upgraded the application we are finding it a "tight squeeze" to get all the TSR's (including breqtcp) into conventional and upper memory - we did it - but - we are concerned that we may not be so lucky with future upgrades - also it seems that the memory available to DOS isn't consistent throughtout all the windows 2000 servers that we have - some provide less conventional memory than others.

We found that btrbox takes up hardly any memory space , which is encouraging, but we find that when we try to use it in conjunction with our application we get an btrieve error 11 - something to do with an invalid file name. On the other hand when we try to use a DOS based reporting tool in the same manner it works fine. I was wondering if you had come across something like this previously?

Just a shot in the dark, but what about filenames larger than 8 characters?

Maybe windows can see this, but BTRBOX, being an old legacy DOS application, cannot?

Thanks for the reponse. As it happens they are all 8 characters - but thanks for that.

What version of BTRBOX are you using? Also, is your application (the one getting the status 11) terminating the filename with the binary zero on the Open call?
