I am still troubleshooting (or trying to) some browsing issues I'm having on my network, mainly, that my browse list is only complete some of the time, other times, its just a partial list.
WINS seems to be working regardless as I can connect to any machine on the network, including machines on remote subnects by typing \\machinename in the address box in network neighborhood.
I was playing with browstat and decided to run the getmaster query. What I received was:
unable to get master: access is denied.
This is when running the getmaster query for my win2k Domain which is fdc.com. When I run it for my old domain (prewin2k), fdc, I get the correct master browser.
Why would I get an access denied error message when running browstat? I'm running it from the first upgraded win2k DC, which is also the pdc emulator and the domain master browser, logged on as administrator.
TIA,
Sharyn
