We went through this where the site owners wanted everything to fit on one screen. The problem is that it's not really possible. You've got people viewing the site at different screen resolutions (which can really affect how the site looks in a big way), different sized monitors (a site that looks great a 15" may look terrible on a 20"
, and different browsers (meaning you may get something to work in IE, but it doesn't work in Netscape). Your best bet is to design a page that is one screen on a 600X800 screen resolution without any scrolling, then look at it in the higher and lower screen resolutions to make any adjustments.
