Hi All,

Having issues with the Brightstor 9 Exchange agent on a new server. Backups fail with the error:
"Failed to connect agent. (agent=\\RPMEXCxx\dbasexchis, EC=Logon failure: The user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer)"

Using a domain service account. Member of local administrators and backup operators. Domain membership includes; domain admins, backup operators, and exchange domain servers. The account can also log on locally and remotely.

I originally installed the agent and patched it up. i have since reinstalled the agent and each patch trying a test backup at every step and failed. I have also tried using backig up using network neighboorhood. One odd (or maybe not so odd) thing is that via the agent it will backup the system state and some misc files successfully.

I have two backend servers the new one is server and exchange 2003. The older 2000/2000 server running the exchange agent has no issues.

I Googled pretty extensively and have come up empty handed. Some help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

In case you have not done it already follow the guidelines in the Exchange DB Agent manual. It is on the CD in the docs directory.

Interesting. The problem seemed to solve itself by waiting over night. Some sort of replicating needs to happen? Wierd since the account and mailbox have been around for 2 years and the Exchange server has been installed and running for a week.
