Brightstor cannot logon to agent

I am upgrading from Arcserve 2000 to Brightstor 11.5 SP1,
preflight fails with the error message:
ource Nodes: \\DR01
Destination: DUB3
Agent Checks: Fail
Issues: Failed to connect to the client agent on \\DR01
Ensure that the client agent on \\DR01 is running
Destination Media Check: Pass
The following job had problems: Job 03

Do I need an agent to backup a windows server? I never needed one before

An agent is only required if you want to backup the system state, otherwise no. Try re-creating the job, it could be that an old system state is selected somewhere.

Just getting used to this new version of Arcserve.
I did as you suggested and also recreated the media pool, it seems to be fine now,many thanks for your help
