I am a veritas guy, so forgive my arcserve ignorance. In Backup exec, there is a specific option to flush committed trasaction logs for Exchange. I don't see that here. WHat I do see is the archive bit set to "leave alone" on full backup instead of "clear bit". Would that be teh reason my logs are not being flushed? Or can it be that I was getting "login error" on the Bricks part of the backup, which leads me to my other problem. I can browse all parts of the backup except for bricks. .

THanks

I just realized there is no exchange agent installed. This might be why I cannot browse Bricks. BUT, if the job is a full job and set to clear archive bit, it should flush Exchange transaction logs right?

nevermind...it is installed. Damn.

Brick level does not in any way relate to truncating of the transaction logs.

This is done on the database level backup - If you are doing a full then the committed log files should be purged automatically after a backup. I'm not sure whether the option you mention relates to exchange backups, under normal circumstances that would be applicable to file system backups only.

I'm presuming your not using circular logging in which case I believe Exchange manages the transaction logs.
