Hi...

I've one quick problem and one quick question - both to do with display settings in XP Pro on two different machines.

1) On my home PC when I log on the contrast / brightness settings are to my liking, but when everything has loaded it defaults to a far brighter screen, a bit washed out looking. I've gone into Control panel > Display > Settings > Advance to change them and the settings I want are there, they just don't load. When I click on my setting it instantly updates to what it should be. I'm thinking something is over-riding my prefered saved settings. I did install a new HP monitor (w2207) with its own display program, but I've sinced stopped this from loading and then uninstalled the application.

2) The other, on my work PC, I've been upgraded to a Dell Optiplex 755 with XP Pro. There's no way to change the brightness / contrast in Display > Settings > Advance. On my Dell monitor I only have red, green and blue options to change the hue. Is there a program I can download and install that will allow me to change the brightness / contrast please..?

Thanks you in advance.

Have you looked around Display/Appearance/Advanced for more settings under "Items"?

Do you have buttons underneath, or on the side of your Monitor, that you can use to change brightness and contrast?
